Ressano Garcia Arquitetos, foi o único atelier europeu entre os cinco finalistas. O júri considerou, no seu conjunto, que o excelente trabalho apresentado constitui uma referência para o futuro ambiental.

Com 130 hectares de área de paisagem protegida, o projeto propõe uma nova topografia que amplia o espaço disponível, permitindo que a nova usina a gás natural coexista com as energias renováveis, as atividades humanas – económicas e de lazer – da comunidade local, e a proteção ambiental.

No contexto do debate global sobre a dependência dos combustíveis fósseis e a transição para as energias renováveis, o futuro ambiental requer novas soluções. A proposta da Ressano Garcia Arquitectos centrou-se na ligação ao local e à comunidade, apresentando um design que integra as mega estruturas de produção de energia e o território numa solução inovadora que mereceu o reconhecimento do júri internacional.
